The Nightingrrrls party series promotes gender equality behind the turntables. Our strategy when booking acts is to request women first. The fact that it’s difficult to gather a female based line-up demonstrates the need to be proactive rather than defaulting to popular male DJs.

Some people mistake the Nightingrrrls. They think that promoting female presence behind the dj post necessarily means a declaration of war against male dj’s. They believe that by creating a feminine lineup we choose politics over musical quality. Some even mentioned the project in one breath with commercial initiatives creating “all female nights” in order to sell their parties as a sexual trigger for male guests.
And what is our answer to all of that? No, no and hell no!
Those of you who have been there at the first two parties know what we mean. They felt the relaxed, liberated atmosphere and the pleasant mood screened from the dj post onto the dance floor. And that’s really all there is to it. This is all we want you to do: look at the dj, look at the dance floor, and find that beam that casts this respect and total-acceptance on those characters, moving in the dark.
No, we will not fix the unjustified ratio between men and women playing those tunes for you, but we will show you that such balance is possible, and even better.
